Students Taking A Responsible Stance

Within the children's program Mr. Stone has implemented a program called Students Taking A Responsible Stance (S.T.A.R.S.). Each year Mr. Stone works with senior martial artists at NSKA to collaborate on the selection of 12 different themes of importance to the development of a child's character. Each month, NSKA designs specific activities around those themes. At NSKA, we believe that every student can learn something from the monthly themes and incorporates them as part of the requirements for promotion in the children's program.

Some of the past themes have been: respect, modesty, courtesy, friendship, integrity, loyalty, communication, and compassion. Through class discussions of the themes, student activities, and parental re-enforcement at home, we believe our students learn and develop into fantastic adults.

S.T.A.R.S forms and themes for the coming months can be located on the Forms Page.
