Comprehensive Self-defense and fitness
Our teen and adult programs offer a unique, comprehensive curriculum that blends traditional martial arts and self-defense with a strong focus on personal fitness and physical empowerment.
Uechi-Ryu karate consists of three related areas of training:
- Training of the body: Training that includes flexibility, coordination, balance, strength, speed, and stamina.
- Training of the mind: Training to improve concentration, awareness, emotional discipline, confidence and serenity.
- Training in self-defense: Protect yourself by learning timing, distancing, accuracy, techniques of blocking and counterattacking, and psychological principles of fighting.
As in our junior program, we at Neil Stone’s Karate Academy strongly believe that karate is not just a physical discipline but a way of life. We provide a strong, vibrant community of martial artists that welcomes everybody who comes through our door. Sensei Neil Stone has taught thousands of students and his experience both in instruction and in self-defense makes our program unlike any other.
As students progress at Neil Stone’s Karate Academy, they will have the opportunity to be nominated for leadership roles. A critical piece of the character development we teach at Neil Stone’s Karate Academy is being a positive example to those around you. As a member of our High-Intensity Team (H.I.T) or our Special Team of Role Models (S.T.O.R.M), students will be taught valuable leadership skills and given the opportunity to teach newer students.
