Young Leaders Program
For students who are at least 7 years old and have achieved the rank of at least purple belt, have the opportunity to take their training and development in a new direction, leadership. NSKA offers three leadership roles within the Academy that provide additional growth and development for students who want to strengthen their leadership and confidence.
High-Intensity Team (H.I.T.) – This team of junior leaders serves as a preparatory program for students who want a chance at becoming a S.T.O.R.M member. Students must be at least 7 years of age and achieved at least a purple belt in order to join. Exemplary students are invited to join H.I.T. where they work one-on-one with younger students, improve their style, and get a feel for leadership and mentoring. These students wear colored uniform pants and are great examples of the talent that martial arts study can create.
Special Team of Role Models (S.T.O.R.M.) – This group of student leaders assist in our classes and act as leaders and mentors for younger students. Students must be at least 9 years of age and achieved at least a brown belt in order to join. S.T.O.R.M. members assist in multiple classes throughout each week and once a month, they meet to learn teaching techniques and improve their leadership skills. By elevating the standards of their own practice and technique, S.T.O.R.M. members become a powerful guiding influence on the positive development of the students they work with. These students wear colored uniform tops.
Assistant Instructor (A.I) – Our assistant instructors are the highest level of leadership in our Academy and are reserved for our students who have brought out the best in the students they have been teaching over the years. Students must be at least 14 years of age and achieved at least a black belt in order to join. As an A.I. member, you will be responsible for running parts of classes and helping promote students through their junior ranks. Our most elite leaders in the S.T.O.R.M. and adult program are hand-selected to become part of our pillar of leaders at the Academy.
